Aeronautical medicine standards prohibit individuals from performing critical aviation functions under the influence of psychoactive substances, as they may compromise human performance and safety. Commercial pilot candidates with an ADHD diagnosis must adhere to stringent regulations to pursue admission to the Commercial Aircraft Pilot program, including providing a comprehensive neuropsychological report demonstrating that their ADHD symptoms are in remission.
POST SECONDARY ADHD AND PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENTS
Most educational institutions will only provide accommodations to students who have had an ADHD assessment that meets certain specific guidelines, and is performed by clinicians with particular qualifications. Students previously diagnosed with ADHD will also typically require a full adult psychoeducational assessment in order to continue their accommodations into their post secondary years.

The Canada Disability Tax Credit It is a tax credit that helps people with disabilities, or their supporting family member, reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay.In order to be eligible for the Disability Tax Credit, one must suffer a marked impairment or complete inability to perform one or more functions necessary for everyday life that persists regardless of appropriate treatment or medication.
Approval is not guaranteed. The final determination on eligibility for the Disability Tax Credit is made by the Canada Revenue Agency.
THE TORONTO RESIDENCY IN COMMUNITY AND APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY (TRACP)
The Toronto Residency in Community and Applied Psychology is a paid clinical psychology residency offered through a consortium of private practices in Toronto. This program provides doctoral students in Ontario and Quebec with supervised clinical experience in diverse settings, regardless of their graduate program’s CPA accreditation status.
Since 2022, the consortium has trained doctoral residents from a range of institutions in Ontario, including clinical psychology and child clinical/clinical developmental programs. TRACP’s application process operates independently of APPIC, emphasizing a flexible, individualized approach to placements. Each resident completes at least two rotations across training sites to ensure breadth and depth of experience.
